BRISTOL, R.I. – Enjoy the company of the community and fitness enthusiasts at the ICON Fitness Festival. The festival is scheduled for Saturday, June 6th from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm. The IFF is a free family-friendly event that promotes fitness and leading an active lifestyle. All proceeds will go toward the Autism Project – East Bay Support Center.

“I’m thrilled to be teaming up with ICON to raise money for the new ‘Autism Project – East Bay Support Center’ which is a local center to help families who have members with Autism,” said Chris Woodard, Autism Project Advisory Council Member. “It’s a project started by the Bristol Rotary and includes members of the local town councils and the Superintendent of the Bristol Warren School Dept.”

People who attend can participate in activities including a boot camp-style work out, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, an obstacle course, meet professional fighters, and a 185-pound bench press competition.

There will also be food, a live dj, live exhibition boxing, inflatable bounce houses, and more.

“I had the idea a few years ago to do something to bring people together, have fun, and promote fitness,” said Amarelo. “Last year we just made it happen. I’m excited to be doing it again and hopefully for many years to come.”

The IFF will also include an open media workout from CES MMA professional fighters including Dinis Paiva, Nate Andrews, and Joe Pingitore.

During open medial workouts, the public gets a close look on how a professional mixed martial artist trains. The fighters are available afterwards for autographs and photographs.

CES will be hosting CES XXIX live on AXS.tv on June 12th at the Twin River Casino

“The ICON Fitness Festival is a great event and is raising money for a great charity, said Patrick Sullivan, CES MMA Director of Operations. “CES MMA will be there to show our support.”

This year’s special guest is John “Doomsday” Howard who will be competing in Las Vegas on Saturday, July 11 at UFC 189

“We are thrilled to be doing this event with the Autism Project,” said Amarelo. “Everyone is excited.”
